About the College
The University College of Arts and Social Sciences with a glorious history and academic excellence is one of the most prestigious constituent College of Mahatma Gandhi University. The institution was started with the aim of equipping the young talents of craving youth with excellent education to confer sufficient knowledge upon them to meet the demand and challenges of the volatile environment. In addition, value based education is imparted to emphasized their personality development triumphing towards goal. The college was established in 2011-12 academic year with three Post Graduate Programmes & Departments

In the picturesque, serene campus the pursuit of academic excellence is complemented with a diverse range of extra – curricular activities. Every student is encouraged to explore his / her untapped potentialities through these events – designed for adjustment, tolerance and socialization. In addition to their personal development, students are continuously sensitized towards the preservation of the natural resources and the college also ensures gender equality and social justice in its everyday practices.
Faculty of all departments possesses requisite qualifications with excellent Research records, few of them have registered for Ph.D. and some are pursuing their Research in frontier areas Experienced, dedicated and inspiring faculty members are additional positivity’s of the college, they are ever committed to provide a safe, positive, intellectual learning environment that will empower students to become creative problem solvers, thinkers and inspired learners. At present, there are about 560 students in the College. The College has 2 computer labs (one Language lab and Social Sciences Lab), as well as 3 E- class rooms, 6 smart classrooms and 1 virtual class room. The College has a rich library with huge collection of reference books, prestigious Journals and magazines.
Two Regular teachers were awarded Best Teacher Awards by Govt. of Telangana for the years 2018 (Dr. K. Anji Reddy) and 2022 (K. Aruna Priya).
The departments are taking an active initiative in conducting various Seminars / Conferences /Awareness programmes at National level which are sponsored by various State and National Organizations.
A unique feature of the college is it’s Academics which enrich the students to qualify its students in the UGC NET, JRF, SET and various competitive examinations, Career Counseling which helps students in getting suitable employment in various Government and Private sector.
