Dr. T Siva Ram is currently the Head and Assistant Professor in the Department of Biotechnology and Botany at Mahatma Gandhi University and has been a faculty member here since 2012.

Dr. Siva Ram earned his MSc. in Microbiology and PhD with highest honours at Kakatiya University, Warangal. He has done his Post Doctoral Research in University of Pittsburgh, Dept. of Pharmacology, USA . Prior to joining at the university he worked in several prestigious institutions as a Scientist and Microbiologist, contributing into teaching and training for nearly 17 years.He has published more than 15 research papers in reputed journals and presented it in conferences at India and abroad.He has one major research project from UGC.

He has delivered several invited talks in conferences and workshops at India and USA. He has held several administrative positions like the Board of Studies Chairperson,Director of IQAC,Course coordinator and developer for Botany and Microbiology, Assistant controller for examinations etc.,.He is also a life time member of Association of Medical Microbiologists, India, Association of Microbiologists of India, Indian Veterinary Public Health Association.

His research specialisation is in the field of Nanotechnology and his area of teaching is Biochemistry, Biostastics, Bioinformatics, Nanobiotechnology. A popular, dedicated and student focused teacher , he has consistently played the role of a mentor, providing the students with guidance at all levels.For over 15 years he has guided several projects for MSc students as a mentor. Currently three research scholars are pursuing theirs PhD under his supervision.

Dr. K. Madhuri is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biotechnology at Mahatma Gandhi University, Nalgonda, Telangana. She completed her M.Sc.- Biotechnology and received her Ph.D. degree from Osmania University, Hyderabad, Telangana based on her doctoral thesis titled “Epidemiology and Cytogenetic Biomonitoring of Cancer Patients exposed to Anti Carcinogenic agents from Rural and Urban areas of A.P., India”. Her research interests lie in the broad areas of Microbiology, Plant Biotechnology, Cytogenetics and Environmental Biotechnology.

Specifically, her research focuses on the following areas: 1) Epidemiological studies of cancer patients 2) Cytogenetic analysis of gastric cancer patients 3) Antioxidants levels in farmers occupationally exposed to pesticides 4) Clinical Relevance of Vitamin C among lead Exposed Infertile Men 5) Molecular Identification of Bio surfactant producing Bacteria.

To her credit she as an Indian Patent filed and published on 26th June, 2022 App. No: 202241034987. Title: Extraction and characterisation of Medicinal plant extracts for control of post-harvest vegetable storage spoilage. In addition 14 publications from Scopus, UGC care and peer reviewed Journals. She contributed in many research projects by mentoring post graduate students in addition to teaching, and currently she is guiding 3 Ph.D. students. She Participated and presented her research work in many National and International conferences/Seminars/Symposiums. She also organized a National Conference on “Recent advances in Biotechnology” at Mahatma Gandhi University, sponsored by UGC. 19th March 2015.

She is working as a UGC – Coordinator, Chairperson – Board of Studies, Department of Biotechnology and Dept. of Botany. She is a subject expert for PG & UG Board of studies in Biotechnology of University College for Women, Government City College, Osmania University. She is also Governing Body/ Selection committee member for various colleges under Mahatma Gandhi University.

She worked as an HOD for the Department of Biotechnology, Deputy Director for Girls Hostel, Assistant Director of Admissions and Member for Institutional biosafety committee, MGU, Nalgonda. she was also a Member for PG of Board studies in Biotechnology Chaitanya postgraduate college, Warangal.

She also Participated in international show at WA, on February 8th 2009, benefiting CRY America.

Dr. K. Premsagar joined the Department of Biotechnology as an Assistant Professor in May 2012 and has been an educator and researcher for nearly two decades. A committed academic with a genuine interest to keep learning, he continues to devote time and effort to make himself as a teacher.He worked as a Post Doctoral fellow at University of Wisconsin,USA and earned his PhD from Osmania University in the field of biochemistry.He has authored more than 10 research papers in various international journals and delivered many invited lectures in the Seminars, Symposium and Conferences.He has also co-authored textbook with many volumes.

He organised and conducted workshop on Bioinformatics and conference on Anti Microbial resistance Global threat, Concern and Prospective Solutions at MGU in collaboration with IIT, Madras for which he received an outstanding performance and appreciation award. He has received many awards for his contributions towards Science and technology and is also an Associate Fellow for Telangana Academy of Sciences and a life member of Mycological Society of India.He has held administrative roles including as HOD of Biotechnology,Director and Vice Principal of Hostels, Asst. Controller of Examinations etc.,

To his credit,he has two projects and his research area is primarily on Metal ion transporters role in N.crassa and Bioremediation offluoride. His teaching area is mainly on Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, rDNA Technology, Bioinformatics, Plant Biotechnology, IPR Ethics and Biosafety. He has guided many students for the projects and dissertations and currently mentoring three PhD students.

Ms. Samreen Kazmi has been with Mahatma Gandhi University since 2008 and is an important alumini member of MGU. She is a Gold medalist at graduation and Post graduation level and even a Merit Scholarship holder at MGU.She completed her Post graduation on 2010 and from then she joined here as a faculty member and currently is an Assistant Professor (C) for the Department of Biotechnology. She is having more than 12 years of teaching experience.

A DST- INSPIRE fellowship holder,currently she is pursuing her PhD from GITAM University in the field of Nanotechnology. She has published and presented research papers in reputed journals and Conferences.

She has held administrative role as Head of the Department for Biotechnology, Member and Convenor for Minority Cell, MGU etc., She is having interest in teaching Molecular Biology, Genetics, Animal and Environmental Biotechnology.

She is a dedicated , student focused teaching professional and is committed to providing a well balanced, supportive and learning environment to students. She inspires and motivates students to be up-to-date with the subject, she also takes a personal initiative to address issues related to staff and student welfare apart from guiding students in their research.

Dr. M. Indira Devi joined the department in 2017 with a teaching experience of 7 years and a research experience of more than 15 years.She did her M.Sc in Biotechnology from Osmania University, Ph.D in the field of Microbiology from Bharathidasan University and has an Advanced Diploma in Bioinformatics from Hyderabad Central University. She is a CSIR - NET recepient.

Prior to joining here, she has done ICMR project in CDFD on “ Structural and functional analysis of bacterial pathogens”, recepient of ICMR - SRF fellowship at AIG -AHF for the project “Isolation, culture and maintenance of clinical grade human pancreatic acinar cells (from cadaveric Pancreatic /diseased pancreatic tissues).”

She has published more than 7 research papers in reputed journals and presented them in various conferences and Seminars with some of them acclaiming awards and appreciation. She has participated in several workshops.Her subject specilizations are in Biochemistry, Genetics, Cell Biology, rDNA technology, Bioprocess technology, animal and Industrial Biotechnology.

A committed academic with a genuine interest to keep learning, she continues to devote time and effort to make herself more effective as a teacher, she motivates students to accomplish their goals and excel in every field of life.
