Dr. Ravi Akula is presently working as Professor, Head & Dean, Faculty of Commerce, Mahatma Gandhi University. Received Doctoral Degree (Ph.D.) in Commerce from Osmania University, Hyderabad. He earned Masters Degree in Commerce (M.Com.) with distinction (University Topper in Year wise scheme) from Osmania University, Hyderabad. He did MBA from Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) New-Delhi. Qualified UGC – NET in Commerce and UGC-NET with JRF in Management. He is the recipient of Indira Gandhi NSS Award from the Government of India (Received from the hands of Honourable President of India), Meritorious Teacher (Best Young Teacher) Award from the Government of Telangana.Dr. Akula has held several Academic and Administrative positions in the University such as Director, IQAC, Controller of Examinations, Director, College Development Council, Director, Directorate of Admissions, Principal, University College of Commerce and Business Management, Chairperson, Board of Studies in Commerce, NSS Programme Co-ordinator, ETI Training Co-ordinator, Director, Directorate of Infrastructure, Director, Centre for Distance Education.He was the member of Executive Council, MGU from 2014 to 2024.
Akula has successfully completed a Major Research Project titled “Farm to Fork through Rythu Bazaars – An Evaluative Study of Telangana State” sponsored by ICSSR, New-Delhi. Dr. Akula has successfully guided Two Ph.D. scholars. He has published a good number articles in reputed journals and authored / edited several books. He has reviewed more than 40 research papers for different journals. Dr. Akula has visited USA, UK, Dubai and Ireland and presented papers in the international conferences. Presently, he is the chairman of the Banking Chair Committee. He has delivered lectures on Personality Development, Higher Education & Society, NEP-2020, Emotional Intelligence, Life Skills Education at different UGC-MMTTCs across India.
He is specialized in Marketing Management, Human Resource Management, Strategic Management.
